Happy 3rd Birthday, Gordi!

A few days ago, as I was driving home from a late night at school, I heard this song on the radio. I could not stop myself from crying. Some of those tears were of joy. You bring so much more happiness to our lives than we could have imagined. You are such a precocious little thing, always exploring, telling us and asking us about what you see around you. You amaze us every day.
Some of those tears were of sadness, though. I began to think of how quickly you've grown, and how I won't be able to spend but a couple of hours with you today because I'll have work and school until late at night. I want to tell you that it kills me to be apart from you while I'm at school, imagining what I might be missing out on, but I am making these sacrifices for you. Not only to set an example for you, but so that you know that we want to provide you with not just those things you need, but whatever you may want. I know you don't understand these things now, but someday you will. And I hope that the words of this song touch your heart when you're old enough to know what it means.
I love you, my little pumpkin. Happy 3rd birthday.

May the good Lord be with you
Down every road you roam
And may sunshine and happiness
surround you when you're far from home
And may you grow to be proud
Dignified and true
And do unto others
As you'd have done to you
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart you'll always stay
Forever Young, Forever Young

May good fortune be with you
May your guiding light be strong
Build a stairway to heaven
with a prince or a vagabond

And may you never love in vain
and in my heart you will remain
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young

And when you finally fly away
I'll be hoping that I served you well
For all the wisdom of a lifetime
No one can ever tell

But whatever road you choose
I'm right behind you, win or lose
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young ,Forever Young

("Forever Young" sung by Rod Stewart, written by Bob Dylan)

Happy Birthday Brandon! Bob Dylan wrote Forever Young, it's one of my favorites. The example you are setting will mold the man he becomes, you will be proud.

I can't tell you how sad I am that I am not there to celebrate your 3rd birthday with you. I promise we can go to Chuck E Cheese when I am in Miami in about 9 days. I can't believe how fast you have grown either. Mommy has said before she can not remember what life was like before you were born, and I can't remember either. I love you more than words can explain, and although you rarely want to talk on the phone, on the days we do talk you remind me why i need to move back to Miami. Having you in my life has taught what unconditional love is, and although you are a baby now, and may not understand yet, your exsistance just makes me happy. It helps me understand what it is like to love someone, no matter what, with all your heart. I miss you and Mikey so much. I realize how quickly you two have grown up and I no longer want to miss it. I love you my little tater tot and I hope you have a great time tonight at Tata's house. Muchos Besitos from your Titi.
