This week in entertainment history

Entertainment highlights during the week of Oct. 15-21:

1951: "I Love Lucy," starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, premiered on CBS.

1966: "Hollywood Squares" premiered on NBC.

1967: Smokey Robinson and The Miracles released "I Second That Emotion."

1973: "The Six Million Dollar Man," starring Lee Majors, premiered on ABC.

1977: Fleetwood Mac released "Rumours," one of the best-selling albums of all time.

1977: Three members of Lynyrd Skynyrd were killed in the crash of a privately-chartered plane in Mississippi. The crash took the lives of lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines and backup singer Cassie Gaines.

1988: Bruce Springsteen broke up the E Street Band, telling them he wanted to pursue his own projects. They have since reunited.

1990: The country mother-daughter act, The Judds, announced they would no longer perform together because Naomi, the mother, had chronic hepatitis. Wynonna continued on as a solo act.

1991: Country singer Clint Black and actress Lisa Hartman were married.

1992: Madonna's album "Erotica" was released, one day before her "Sex" book hit stores.

1997: Elton John's "Candle in the Wind 1997" broke the record for the best-selling single of all time, just 37 days after its release. "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby had been the previous record-holder.

2003: Simon and Garfunkel reunited for their first concert tour in two decades, in Wilkes-Barre, Penn.
