There was a frog in our guest/the boys' bathroom this afternoon. About four or five inches long.
I didn't even find it, a friend was over and was going to use the bathroom when she heard a teeny little splash. She hadn't even used the toilet yet, so it wasn't her. She looked down, and there it was. She walks over to me in the kitchen and very calmly says, "did you know there's a frog in your toilet?". I said, "OMG, No!! Did you know I'm scared of frogs, and don't even want to see it?! Please go close the bathroom door!!" She had already lowered the seat cover. We then left, and I didn't come home till hubby got home from work and attempted to get rid of it. After trying to fish him out with an aquarium net, the frog went back down the hole. He flushed twice, and the frog came back up, but went back down again. My hubby then poured bleach down the toilet and flushed. He did this at least 10 times, he says. I believe him because I bought a 3-quart bottle of bleach yesterday, and it's gone. So is the frog. But do you think he'll be back? Has this happened to anyone else before? I am dreading even going in the bathroom, much less letting Brandon use it. Not to scare him or anything, just because he may not notice the frog and it can come back and jump out of the toilet and be out and about all over my house, and the thought of that is not only gross, but will definitely make me hysterical, and I'll end up in the looney bin.
Any words of frog wisdom are appreciated, since I will probably never use that toilet again.
Congrats to CalTechGirl and her Dear Hubby on the pending purchase of their first home.
The process is quite a pain in the a$$* but so worth it!!
You know if I could, I'd fly over there and help with the move, my friend. =)
*oh, that's funny...no pun intended with the dollar signs!
Hi everyone. I know it's been quiet around here. *Crickets chirping*
I've been busy finalizing the last paper due for my last class. Folks, tomorrow is officially my last day of class as an undergrad! OMG, I can't believe it. In less than a month, I graduate! WOO HOO!!
Besides school assignments, I've been having quite a bit of fun while I'm still on maternity leave. I've got an almost-3-month old who gurgles constantly. Apparently, he thinks he can talk, so we converse every day!
We also had quite a busy weekend. Saturday midday was spent at the zoo with a certain friend who's been wanting to go for a while. She and Brandon had great fun feeding the giraffes, as well as checking out all the other wildlife. Afterwards, Eric and I had some grown up time. The boys stayed over at my dad and stepmom's, and Matt not only had his first sleepover, it was a full house with four out of the five boys there. Can you imagine?!
As for Eric and I, we had two parties to attend that evening. The first was our friend Adrian's 31st birthday party. We were there for just under two hours, then headed home to change for our next stop. Our friends Vivian and Martin both turn 30 between April and May, so they had a big 70's themed party to celebrate the milestone. Studio 54 re-opened at their home, and it was awesome! They even got a little bit creative with some baking powder and sugar. I still have no idea how I got my husband to dress up. My hubby doesn't dance, but I was boogy-ing down in my 4-inch platforms until 2 in the morning. My feet still hurt, but it was worth it.
We've got big plans for this coming weekend too: we're taking the boys to Disney World! I know Matt won't remember his first trip to Disney, but the rest of us are going through Disney withrdrawal, so we'll be headed to Orlando Sunday morning, returning on Wednesday. I can't wait! =)
Some people suggested earlier today that I update the blog, since I haven't done so in about a week, so here is a quick re-cap of the last few days.
We took the boys for portraits on Monday afternoon. We did not get a nice picture of the two of them together, but we did get a great one of Matt laughing, and Brandon's 4-year-old portraits, which were a couple of months overdue, came out excellent. When I receive them, I will post them and scan them for your viewing pleasure.
On Tuesday, I took Matt for his 2-month well check visit. He weighs 10 pounds, 4 ounces, and is 22 and 1/4 inches long, 25% for both. He's quite bigger than Brandon was at this age. AFter the appointment, we went to pick up my hubby. My power steering was acting funny, so he dropped my car off at the dealer after he left work.
Wednesday was spent at home cleaning and paying bills, until my sister came by and we walked to Brandon's school to pick him up, then kept walking for another half hour before it began to rain. We've been trying to walk at least twice a week while I'm on maternity so we can both return to our glorious, pre-pregnancy bodies (?!?!). We'll see if that happens before I go back to work.
Thursday was a busy, busy day. Hubby and I went to pick up the car before he headed to work. Afterwards, I had to go to the office for a little while to take care of a couple of matters. Matt and I then met up with my sister and ran some Easter-related errands. Even though I was quite tired, I got home, took the stroller out of the car, and walked to Brandon's school to pick him up. Go me!!
Yesterday was a treat for Brandon, since I allowed him to play hooky from school. His cousin Mikey attends a private school, and they did not have class on Friday (and will be on break this coming week), so we spent the day with my sister, the two boys, her cousin's son, and another friend of ours and her two boys. We took them to an indoor play area at a nearby mall, then my sister and I took the boys for their Easter bunny portraits. It didn't turn out so great, but it is their first bunny picture together, so it's a keeper. (look below the fold for the pic of the boys). Brandon might be lucky enough to miss school on Monday as well. Weather permitting, we're all going to the zoo!
Today was a bit crazy. We went to a birthday party, then my grandmother's house for a pre-Easter egg hunt with my mom (we won't be seeing them tomorrow), then went to do groceries for our little Easter brunch tomorrow morning.
You can see why the blog has been ignored, but for good reason. I'll be back next week on a more regular basis, but for now, we wish you all a wonderfully blessed Easter, or Passover, or a non-denomational weekend. Have a great one, no matter what you celebrate!
