As I mentioned yesterday, I had one of those lovely allergy attacks that ails me every once in a while. It calmed down a bit at work, but it was at its worst when I got home. My eyes were tearing, itchy and swollen, and my head was pounding with a sinus headache. I hardly moved, staying on the couch until Eric got home. Brandon entertained Matty by playing with him on the floor until it was time for his feeding. I don't even know how I managed that one: I was in a half-sitting, half-laying down position on the reclining part of the couch, with Matty leaning against me. Eric got home just before 8pm with a pizza I asked him to pick up. I practically threw the kids at him in order to eat, take a couple of Benadryl, and sleep it off.
I love the fact that we have a hard disc video recorder for these kinds of occasions. Ours is pre-set on Tuesdays for the new FX show Damages, Wednesdays for Rescue Me, Thursdays for Grey's Anatomy and Sundays for Extreme Makeover Home Edition and Desperate Housewives. I usually stay up to watch Damages and Rescue Me, but there was no way that was going to happen last night. Thanks to the DVR, I didn’t have to worry about missing one of my shows. Although we realized this morning that Damages didn’t air last night, and in its place were two back-to-back (?) showings of “The Aviator", it’s nice to know I wouldn’t have missed a thing thanks to our little machine.
