Monet's Masterpieces

I’ve been itching to go on vacation for a few months now. Hubby and I had hopes of taking a trip this Fall, either to New York City, or a cruise somewhere. One of our favorite things to do while on board the ships, besides eat like it's out of style, is attend the art auctions on the ships. You wouldn’t know it by the bare walls all over our house, but we love art, especially the classics like Monet, Picasso, and Van Gogh. One of my favorites is the series Monet did later in his life featuring the pond and water lilies from his own backyard (see? That Art History class did come in handy!). The piece below is one of my favorites, and while we can never afford authentic Monets, we have two prints that we need to get framed that will adorn our dining room and bedroom in the near future. I’d love to one day get oil painting reproductions of our current two prints, and maybe even of one or two of the waterlillies series. Reproductions would certainly last longer than the paper prints we have, and they'd add a touch of elegance and class to our otherwise humble home.
How did this post about taking a vacation turn into an mini-art lesson and home decorating? Me going off on a tangent again, that’s how! ;-)
