Party Planning Preliminaries

We just got home from the birthday party, and all four of us are exhausted! One of the main topics of conversation were baptisms. Lilli and Adrian will be baptizing their little one at the end of December. I, on the other hand, am way overdue in planning Matty's baptism. I called the church last week and late December seemed to be the closest timeframe for scheduling Matty’s as well. I’d rather do it sometime in November. December is just too busy for us, with my birthday and the holidays, and planning around our guests' holiday schedules. As it is, he’s getting older and will probably be very fidgety during the ceremony. Good thing he likes water; I have high expectations that instead of crying he will laugh when the holy water is poured over his head.
Even though we don’t have a date yet, I have been doing a little browsing for invitations and favors. I found some custom invitations that I like, and are very reasonably priced. I have to consult Eric for his visual and monetary approval, but it looks like I may end up ordering these when we finally book the church for the event. Thankfully, our expenses for this event will be minimal: the invitations, the "donation" to the church, and finger foods. I already told Eric we will be hosting a very small and simple gathering at our house afterwards, nothing the least bit extravagant. Let's see if I can stick to that plan...

Please don't pick late December (or early January) so I can actually attend this baptism.
