Claudia just posted about how Christian clung to her like a monkey last week when they attempted to take his picture with Santa. We had much of the same at our house this weekend. Hubby and I took the boys to The Falls on Saturday afternoon (they have one of the nicest looking Santas in town) for what I hoped would be the simple, painless process of taking a picture with Jolly Ole St. Nick. I was wrong. Things were going well while we were in line, even while we waited for the "elf" to set up the camera properly. Matty interacted with Santa while I was carrying him, smiling and waving, but once I sat him down, that was it. The tears would not stop until I picked him up. He was trying to wiggle off of Santa's lap, and putting his arms up so daddy or I would pick him up. We tried taking a few shots to see if some of them might look like perhaps Matty wasn't crying, just unhappy, but no luck. I picked him up and consoled him and we took one of just Brandon which looked great, but we didn't buy it. Just one sheet was $15.99, and I wasn't going to spend the money if the entire point was to document Matty's first Christmas. We can do some holiday-themed pictures at home for free.
