About the FCAT

I've been saying this for quite some time. There's too much emphasis on the FCAT, and not enough on being prepared for the "real world". I know this was a long time ago, but when I was in school, there was no FCAT. I did just fine. I was in honors and advanced classes, and had a pretty decent GPA (3.2 or so). It could have been higher, but it was due to laziness on my part, not the ability to learn or my teachers' efforts. If the FCAT is not as accurate as they speculated, why not go back to the way things were before? Am I just too naive about this?
