I was having a conversation with WB earlier today about mortgage payments. We're both in a bit of a financial crunch, but we're getting out of it more and more each day. Some people aren't so lucky. I found out this morning that Brandon's teacher's son and daughter-in-law lost their home a few months ago. The real estate market is not getting any better any time soon, and it's terrible to think some people are doing so badly financially that they haven't afforded their mortgage payments for over six months. It also got me thinking, do futures brokers deal in real estate as well? I would think that they are losing money in this market too. No one expected real estate to take the tumble that it has, and from what I hear, it's going to get worse before it gets better. But I figure, I'd rather default on all my credit cards and pay my mortgage than lose my house.
I'm so thankful it hasn't gotten to that point yet. Hopefully the slump will end soon.
same wavelength: I'm working on a similar type post lamenting the mortgage situation.
