This story brought tears to my eyes. The 13-year-old is a hero, no doubt about it. I'm glad to see some kids pay attention in health class. I remember learning CPR in middle school and high school, and I'm ashamed to say I have not kept up with my certifications. I should do that, I'm going to look it up right now and see if any classes are available here at work. It's one of those things that you hope you don't need, but it's good to know, just in case.

A hero and definitely a smart kid for paying attention. Wish more people did.
Certifications? Oy. I need to get current but can't until my back is fixed. I still know what to do, and could do it in an emergency (thank God for adrenalin) but practicing right now? Yikes!

Posted by: Da Goddess at April 11, 2008 10:01 AMDude. My hubby is going through EMT training and they've changed it AGAIN. I mean, we had to take a crash course before the hospital would let us take Babylove out of there and even from that time to this the rules have been changed (breaths to compressions) -- and it's even worse than from the first time I took a CPR course and had to french kiss poor old ResusciAnnie.
I gotta get me some retrainin' myself. Heh.
