Pride

My uncle just called me. He's in front of the White House RIGHT NOW, with Ziva, waiting to go in to attend the president's speech about Cuba. Why today? It's Cuban Solidarity Day. What an amazing experience. There's a live feed of the speech, which starts at 9:30am10:30am.

I do not have the words to express how proud I am of my uncle. I told him over the weekend that this is his calling. He was meant to be a voice for the Cuban people. I don't know anyone with as much passion and determination for a cause as he has for this one, and I'm an honored to be his niece.

Amanda, you have much to be proud of. I have met your uncle and is is a voice to be heard - and one that is listened to. Looking at the picture on his web page from the White House, I can only imagine his excitement. Some people think that greatness is a matter of luck, but in his case it is a matter of determination, work, and a great love.
Be proud. Be very proud.
