Lots of stuff going on this weekend. I'll start with Saturday and write about Sunday later. As much as I'd like to avoid it, I have work to do.
I went to a Friends and Family event at Macy's bright and early on Saturday morning with the boys and my sister, and I'm happy to report that I only spend $20 on a pair of shoes. Oh, wait, I take that back. I forgot that I also bought this. Hubby has been wanting to get a steam mop for a while, and it was on sale, plus an additional 10% off because of the event. We're going to test it out sometime this week, but I'm curious: has anyone tried it? Do you like it?
In the late afternoon we went to the Marlins vs. Padres game, Matty's first baseball game ever! It was another Fish and Bird event, but this time Brandon was excited about going. At least he was until about the 3rd inning when he said he wanted to go home, but I'm getting ahead of myself. We got there early enough to enjoy some of the pre-game activities. There were a couple of bouncehouses for the kids, a dunk tank, player autograph signings, and photo ops with Billy the Marlin, Sebastian the Ibis, and the world series trophies. That was very cool, seeing the trophies up close.
Matty fell asleep around the 7th inning (more or less) and Brandon was tired and anxious to go home around that time too, but they were very well behaved throughout the game. We left a few minutes before the game ended, and saw the fireworks at a distance while headed home on the Turnpike.
Final score: 7-2, Padres. The Fish lost, but we had fun, and that's what matters. (yes, I know I'm corny.)
